About Rachel
Rachel Overvoll is a Somatic Sexologist, Certified Somatic Sex & Intimacy Coach, Certified Sex Educator, author and speaker dedicated to helping individuals and couples build relationships that feel deeply connected, not just functional. Her work sits at the intersection of sexuality, attachment, nervous system regulation, and relational psychology. Rather than focusing solely on communication or behavior change,
Rachel helps clients understand the deeper patterns that shape intimacy: the adaptive strategies developed for survival, the stories carried from family, culture, and religion, and the ways the body holds both protection and possibility.
Her approach integrates somatic coaching, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work, and Polyvagal Theory to help clients move beyond insight alone and create lasting change through lived experience.
In addition to working with clients, Rachel teaches professionals, physicians, and community organizations on topics including sexual health, purity culture, trauma, desire, and relationship dynamics. She has presented on intimacy after medical trauma, erectile dysfunction through the lens of the nervous system, women's sexuality, and the lasting psychological impacts of religious sexual shame.
She is the author of Finding Feminism and The Breakup Journal, and is passionate about making conversations around sex, relationships, and pleasure more honest, inclusive, and deeply human.
